Closed private business aircraft transactions rose 21 per cent year on year to 746 in the first six months of 2026, the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) said in its second-quarter market report on 27 July 2026.

IADA put the result down to strong buyer demand and historically tight inventory. It recorded 536 aircraft going under acquisition agreements over the six months, and said dealers also bought 118 aircraft for their own stock. It described the world’s leading dealers and brokers as continuing to show confidence.

Dealers reported 67 aircraft price reductions in the half, 11 per cent fewer than a year earlier. Set against the 746 closed transactions, the pattern is of more deals closing while fewer sellers cut asking prices, in a market where good aircraft are scarce.

Lou Seno, IADA’s executive director, said scarce high-quality aircraft were holding up valuations and moving bargaining power to sellers. He added that activity was running ahead of last year, and that members remained confident despite ongoing global uncertainties.

Looking ahead, respondents to IADA’s survey expect pricing to be stable or modestly higher over the coming six months. Nearly two-thirds anticipate further price increases in the Large Jet+ segment, IADA’s category for the top end of the market.

On the 12-month view into the first half of 2027, members described the market as very stable and moving towards improvement.

The report was released from Los Angeles and covers closed transactions, acquisition agreements, dealer purchases into inventory and price reductions across the first half of 2026.
